HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

How to Train Your Dragon – Title Localisation & Motion Graphics

Client: Universal

Platform: Adobe After Effects

Techniques: Rotoscopying

Worked on the localisation and adaptation of title treatments across multiple international markets. Using Element 3D, a plugin integrated within Adobe After Effects, I recreated and adapted 3D title sequences while maintaining the original cinematic look and feel. My role involved preparing localized language versions, adjusting layouts for different title lengths, and ensuring consistency across regional deliverables. The project also required video editing, compositing, and occasional rotoscopying work to seamlessly integrate translated titles into existing footage.

This project strengthened my ability to combine creative design, technical execution, and large-scale content localisation for global entertainment brands. Working on a franchise such as How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World required maintaining the film’s distinctive visual identity and emotional storytelling across a wide range of markets, formats, and digital touchpoints. It also strengthened my ability to adapt creative assets efficiently while balancing brand consistency, technical requirements, and the need to preserve the original creative vision at scale.
